This series of firmware upgrades can, to a certain extent, limit the use of compatible consumables with chips, and make some of the latest machines unrecognizable and work! Especially for: HP435/436/285/278/388 universal chip, HP285A and HP278A are incompatible, the situation of non-recognition occurs, temporarily excluding HP435/436/388!
(2) From the firmware upgrade officially released by HP Company, we know that some HP printers which started firmware upgrade from the new machine manufactured in October 2011 are as follows:

HP435/HP436/HP388A/HP285/HP278A universal chip, because selenium drum adhesive parts are basically the same in hardware, so in software, its design principle can be achieved through some similarity loopholes in the original HP printer communication protocol to achieve the generalization of the above types of chips, but once the printer fills in or closes the loopholes in these communication protocols, the above general chip will be It's hard to be universal again. Especially when customers request to use HP435/436/285/278 general-purpose adhesive and chip, they should pay special attention to using HP285A/HP278 selenium drum. It is better to use independent special chip when using HP285A/HP278 selenium drum.
(4) Suggestions for HP firmware upgrade in the above parts:
1. It is recommended that customers try their best to purchase and use HP435/HP436/HP388A/HP285/HP278A dedicated independent chips, and use less HP435/HP436/HP388A/HP285/HP278A general purpose adhesive chips! Because HP Universal Chip is a product that grasps HP's shortcomings, vulnerabilities and weaknesses to show its unique functions, once the vulnerabilities are filled, it is impossible to face the changing trend of firmware upgrade in the future!
2 At present, HP435 (dedicated), HP436 (dedicated), HP388A (dedicated), HP285 (dedicated), HP278A (dedicated), HP505 (dedicated), HP364 (dedicated), 255 (dedicated) are our dedicated chips. For the time being, we have not found that we can not face the impact of firmware upgrade, but can safely use them for the time being! However, we also need to remind customers to pay attention to HP firmware upgrade new trends, once there are abnormalities and complaints, the first time to inform chip manufacturers!
For customers, we must use the general chip of HP435/HP436/HP388A/HP285/HP278A general-purpose adhesive. Please make sure that the selenium drum factory clearly communicates with the sales staff and customers, and we need to tell the later risks of using the general-purpose chip. Special attention should be paid to: upgraded (U1) and (U5) HP388A and HP285A, can not continue to be universal!
(5) Measures after firmware upgrade of some HP machine models:
1 For (U2) HP436/435/285 Universal, (U1) HP436/388/285 Universal, (U4) HP436/435/285 Universal, (U4) HP436/435/285/278/505/364/255 Universal, if there are any inventory chips, send them back to our company to exchange the new U1 or U2 or U4 Universal Chips which our company upgraded in December 2011 in the face of the upgrade.
If you want to avoid the incompatibility of general purpose chips caused by HP's new upgrade, you can suggest that customers return the original inventory of general purpose chips to the corresponding independent special chips above.
